We begin by exploring the importance of a thorough discovery and exploration process to identify each client’s strengths, interests, and support needs. Thoughtful job matching creates a strong foundation by aligning the individual with a workplace, role, and culture where they can succeed.
From there, we examine how to leverage an employer’s existing training processes and enhance them with individualized coaching that meets each client’s unique needs. Rather than viewing accommodations as separate or burdensome, we discuss practical strategies for requesting and integrating them seamlessly into standard workplace training.
We also highlight how job coaching is fundamentally relational. Effective coaching goes beyond task instruction—it requires building authentic workplace connections. Participants will learn strategies for identifying and strengthening natural supports so clients can become integrated into the employer’s existing social framework.
Throughout the session, participants will be actively engaged through group discussion and interactive poll questions, allowing them to reflect on their own experiences and share strategies with peers.
By combining strong job matches, customized coaching, thoughtful accommodation strategies, and authentic workplace relationships, practitioners can create conditions where fading support becomes natural, appropriate, and sustainable.
