Using Multiple Funding Streams to Reach Success 

In this interactive session, participants will be introduced to the employment services available under DD funding and will receive suggestions as to when & how to use DD funding to help support success in employment outcomes. Examples will be used to help illustrate how DD funding can be used to help with employment success and to encourage audience participation. Audience participation will be encouraged throughout the presentation, through questions about real-life experiences. Questions will also be highly encouraged.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will learn how they can successfully navigate between funding streams (VR & DD) and when DD funding may be able to help support employment outcomes.

  2. Participants will learn about the employment supports available under DD funding as well as services that can complement the employment journey.

  3. Participants will be able to apply concepts to real-life situations to have a better understanding of how to navigate the different funding streams and how they can use multiple services to help increase chances of successful outcomes.

Sandy Keyser, Employment First Specialist/APSE Board Member

Sandy has been working for the Division of DD since 2004. She started as a Support Coordinator, in the St. Louis region, where she worked with mostly transition-age youth & young adults. In 2012, she took the Employment First position, and has been in that position ever since. In 2013, she obtained the training required to become a Benefits Specialist. And in 2023, she joined the APSE Missouri Board. Sandy is very passionate about employment for all. And is always willing to help share knowledge that can be used to help someone succeed in achieving their desired goals.
