Strategies for Stroke Recovery

This workshop invites you in to hear first-hand from Ms. Kelly Cook. She worked 26 years for Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation. Ms. Cook is an 8-year breast cancer survivor and in November 2025 had an Ischemic Stroke. This session will explain types of strokes including symptoms and warning signs. This workshop will provide personal experiences and emotions during the first 6 months after a stroke.  Finally, this session will highlight the individual strategies used for personal recovery.

Learning Objectives

  1. Attendees will be able to identify the different types of strokes

  2. Attendees will be able to identify Stroke Symptoms and warning signs

  3. Attendees will learn about the Medtronic Implantable Loop Recorder for monitoring Atrial Fibrillation.
